Tuberculosis (TB)

Tuberculosis (TB) is a fully treatable and preventable disease which is transmitted through the air. It particularly affects persons living in crowded conditions and in poverty (e.g., homeless) and persons who have HIV infection (e.g., injection drug users). TB can be fatal if left untreated.

Ledge Light Health District works with the Connecticut Department of Public Health Tuberculosis Control Program to prevent transmission of TB and conduct contact investigations within the District.

If you would like more information, please contact Kris Magnussen, Supervisor, Communicable Disease Prevention.
